Poetry Friday

Journey’s End

Through closed eyes the doorway beckons
And the veil parts above the petal strewn ground.
It’s too late for more goodbyes.
There was only this one wanting moment.
Where goes the struggles and the fight?
Is there a city where love and pain nestles
In a marriage of discarded purpose and reason?
On white cushions, tracked by years carved
By tears and smiles, lies a map to a soul.
Sleep softly, the journey is done.
